Top Tier Tips For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II DMZ Mode

The 2022 edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II launched on October 28 and became the best-selling video game of the year, despite there only being on sale for two months. Part of the reason for the game’s popularity is the exciting DMZ mode, a thrilling extraction mode played on the Warzone 2.0 map, Al Mazrah. DMZ has taken the Call of Duty community by storm, but many players are struggling to be competitive. Read these tips, and that will no longer be an issue.

Try To Have a Clear Plan

There are a few moments from when you first spawn onto the map where you and your teammates are standing around. Use this time to talk to them via your headset. See which missions they want to complete, or ask them to help you complete a task you have unlocked. You wouldn’t head to the best Bitcoin sportsbooks online and throw all your money on a random team without any preparation, so don’t expect to survive long in DMZ if you don’t plan where to travel. Make a mental note of how far away the nearest extract point is and where the final one will be once the gas spreads enough. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

Always Try to Have a Silenced Insured Weapon

Losing all your weapons and gear when you die is a frustrating but necessary feature of DMZ. Thankfully, you have an insured weapon slot; you can have up to three spaces if you complete all the current faction missions. If you die with your insured weapon in tow, a two-hour real-time cooldown period starts before you can select it again. However, extracting with cash and valuables reduces your waiting time. Always try to have a silenced weapon in your insured slot. A silenced sniper rifle can allow you to take out the enemy AI without altering their compadres. Furthermore, living players will not hear your gunshots as clearly and are less likely to track you down, kill you, and relieve you of your loot. Not drawing unwanted attention to you is a good strategy in DMZ, especially as some of the more formidable AI are incredibly hard-hitting.

Activate UAV Towers, Consider Equipping a Heartbeat Sensor

UAV towers dotted around that map reveal the location of nearby enemies once activated. UAV towers are beneficial if you plan to complete a nearby objective. AI combatants show up as red diamond outlines, while other players are revealed as red diamonds. If you are playing with a team that you know before spawning, ensure one of you has chosen a heartbeat sensor from the loadout screen. Its battery is finite but can be a game-changer in tight situations. A quick use of the heartbeat sensor will reveal nearby AI and other players, particularly if you’re holed up in a building and hear footsteps.

Check The Area Before Extracting

DMZ’s endgame is to extract on one of the heavy helicopters before the gas engulfs the map. Calling in the chopper launches a green flare that is easily seen by any other nearby players. Sometimes, AI will rush toward the extraction zone; other players certainly do. Before calling in the extraction helo, look around nearby buildings, and always be aware that some players love to snipe extracting players from a distance before rushing in, stealing loot, and jumping aboard the helicopter you called in! Be vigilant once you and your team are on the chopper because the countdown reduces to five seconds, then it takes a few more seconds before you are out of harm’s reach. You don’t want to be ambushed at the last moment and ruin your run.

Use Proximity Chat to Your Advantage

Proximity chat is a new feature available in Warzone 2.0 and DMZ. It allows you to hear other players, and they hear you when you are within 55 meters of one another. While some players live for attacking their fellow players, if you hear someone talking, it is worthwhile letting them know you are friendly or that you are only completing missions because the other team will often leave you alone
