In the mid-east of North America, there are five “Great Lakes” that shape up some of the continent’s most gorgeous and breathtaking natural locations.
The five Great Lakes are Lake Erie, Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Ontario and Lake Michigan. The Canadian province of Ontario and the following eight U.S. states are in the Great Lakes area: Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois and Minnesota.
There is no shortage of popular locations, tourist attractions, events and activities to enjoy if you’re planning a trip around the Great Lakes region. Here is a list of things that should be near the very top of your to-do list for a vacation to the Great Lakes.
Check Out Sporting Events In Cleveland
The city of Cleveland sits on Lake Erie, one of the most historically significant sites in the country. The Battle of Lake Erie was a key battle in the War of 1812; in which the Navy held off the British to ensure that the Americans regained control of Detroit, Michigan.
Cleveland is one of the top sports cities in the United States. It’s home to the NBA’s Cavaliers, MLB’s Guardians and NFL’s Browns. The Buckeye State launched sports betting at the start of the new year, and there are many special Ohio sports betting promo codes available to new customers upon signing up.
The Browns’ 2022 NFL season ended in January, as they missed out on the postseason for the second consecutive year. They’ll return to action in September, and regardless of the team’s performance; the fans make the “Dawg Pound” a playoff-like atmosphere for every home game.
Led by Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland and Evan Mobley, the Cavaliers are one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference right now. Their regular season concludes in mid-April, but it will likely go on longer since they’re a virtual lock to make the postseason.
As for the Guardians, their 2023 season will commence on Mar. 30 against the Seattle Mariners on the road. Cleveland’s home opener will take place against the Mariners on Apr. 7.
The Guardians are the reigning AL West Champions and should be among the top contenders in the American League. Like the competitive Cavaliers, the Guardians are always worth the price of admission.
So while visiting Cleveland, you should definitely look into the different teams; and games to bet on and make it a priority to attend at least one sporting event here.
Visit The CN Tower In Toronto, Ontario
The city of Toronto, Ontario is Canada’s biggest and most populated city. There is no shortage of activities to check out during your visit here, but if your priority is time around Lake Ontario, you’ll definitely want to plan a visit to the CN Tower.
The CN Tower is located in the downtown part of Toronto. One of Canada’s most famous landmarks, the CN Tower opened its doors in 1976. Standing at 1,815 feet in height, it was the world’s tallest building until 2007 — when the Burf Khalifa in Dubai (2,722 feet in height) broke the record.
If you go to the main observatory deck on the CN Tower, you’ll get a breathtaking view of Lake Ontario. There’s also a revolving restaurant on the tower called the “360 Restaurant”; which can hold up to 400 patrons at any minute.
Toronto offers a wide variety of activities and popular tourist attractions to check out during your visit here. The city is home to the NHL’s Maple Leafs, MLB’s Blue Jays, NBA’s Raptors, CFL’s Argonauts as well as Toronto FC of MLS; so there are some additional teams right there to place wagers on if you’re traveling around Lake Ontario.
