Ana Gabriel (born December 10, 1955) is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and actress. After signing with Musart Records in 1971 she made her debut album Yo Soy la Mujer.


Ana María Gabriel Ortega (born December 10, 1955), known professionally as Ana Gabriel, is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and actress. Raised in a family of musicians, Gabriel began her career at age 13 singing regional Mexican music.

She has sold more than 20 million records worldwide. Her discography includes several hits including No Me Voy a Morir, De Mí Enamórate, Será Mañana and Por Que No Le Calas. She grew up listening to mariachi groups such as Trio Los Panchos and Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. 

At age 15, Ana Gabriel joined her first group called Las Hermanas Carruseles. The group did not last long but Ana Gabriel continued performing with other bands. Until she became part of a trio called Las Tres Diamantes along with Rocio Durcal and Elsa Garcia. In 1979, Ana Gabriel signed with Musart Records and released her debut album Hasta Que Te Conoci. 

It included hit singles like No Me Voy A Morir. Which reached number one on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks chart in 1980. Other popular songs from that album include De Mí Enamórate and Será Mañana. Both reached number two on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks chart later that year.
